Backstage with Headmasters: Jonathan Soons at Simone Rocha A/W12
I kicked off LFW by working on the Simone Rocha show, assisting the super talented James Pecis. It’s my second season working with the team and I always love the buzz backstage.
The hair had a real tribal feel, with a tight braid running from the nape of the neck into a faux loose fringe which was then swept to one side, a reference to Irish Traveller pony heritage and the Papua New Guinea tribe “The New Irish.”
To create the mussed-up texture, we prepped the hair with sea salt spray before blow drying this in for a dishevelled and matte finish. The braid was then sewn into the hair and secured using invisible elastic.
