What dreams are made of
As more than 500 people packed the Royal Festival Hall’s Clore Ballroom on Monday night, 106 metres of plaited hair was being styled on 15 models in the buzzing backstage area, with only 15 minutes to go until the first model opened the Alchemy fashion show! It was a smashing debut for The Coterie’s 17-strong session team, all lead by session superstars Kathryn Dartnell and Andrew-Thomas Corbett. Without the pressure of London Fashion Week, but with all the stress of last minute preparations on models for make-up artists, dressers, stylists, and show co-ordinators, the team pulled together and created two modern yet traditional styles, with thick coils of braids and vertiginous towers of plaits that wowed designers Prashant Verma, Gauraw Jai Gupta, Morphe by Amit Aggarwal and Sanjay Garg… and left the front row in awe!
