A bit of coup d’état for three

One week, three sensational salons – and plenty to rave about. Here is a round-up of what we’ve seen, learnt and heard in the past week…

Our first evening of glitteratti transported us to the Errol Douglas salon in Knightsbridge to celebrate their Red Carpet Ready service – and true to Errol’s style, it was glamour, glamour, glamour all the way. The exclusive party guests were either trying out minute makeovers by Ariane Poole or having eyelash ‘wings’ fitted for the ultimate Hollywood finish. We nibbled on Boxwood Café canapés and sipped bubbly with the likes of Cat Simmons, Speech Debelle, and Emilia Fox. Celebrity city!

Our next stop was the wonderful Stephen Way salon, on New Bond Street, for an in-depth introduction to Moroccanoil product portfolio – launched just four weeks ago, it’s already in more than 1,000 salons across the UK. It all started when Canadian Carmen Tal’s hair colour went horribly wrong before jetting off to a wedding in Israel. A last-minute dash to a friend’s hairdresser in hope of a colour recovery, resulted in a global product revolution – she took home a few jars of  a miracle  oil that the hairdresser used, started masses of research to create a super secret formula and developed a new and exclusive luxe treatment. Now a stylist favourite, the weightless wonder has been used on the tresses of stars including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Amanda Seyfried and Salma  Hayek to get that fabulous frizz-free finish we all crave – and it strengthens hair to boot!

Moroccanoil is an argon-oil infused luxury salon-only line of styling, finishing and conditioning products.

Try Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream to achieve top television stylist looks from Heroes, Gossip Girl and Lost. Alternatively opt for a radiant cover style using the Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine spray, which can be seen in the much discussed Winona Rider cover and fashion spread in the July issue of Elle UK

Last, but not least, we were skittish with excitement as we made our way to Andrew Barton’s salon in Covent Garden yesterday. Everyone knows Andrew from TV (he’s one of Angela’s friends on Sky 1, and he’s a dab hand at helping turn back the clock on 10 Years Younger), but this is his first salon having branched out on his own – and the plan is to see 14 more in the next five years! The sparkling window show is bound to grab the attention of passers-by – Andrew has hired a window dresser who will update the look every month – and once inside we couldn’t resist stroking the flock wallpaper dogs on the wall (note – they all have names; we heart Butch!). It’s clear this was a labour of love for Andrew, with even the styling stations personally designed by the man himself. And it’s a stunner – we can’t wait to go back and enjoy an equally gorgeous makeover ourselves!
